Just finished baking Two Apple/rum custard pies with peacans on top. They turned out great. Never tried this recipe before so am looking forward to a taste tonight for desert. One is for the Church tea on Sat. There is no top crust with this pie. They smelled amazing while they were cooking. yum, yum, yum.

Remember those two apple/rum pecan custard pies I baked yesterday? Well guess what? I used frozen Tenderflake crusts from the local (Safeway)(can I say that) The heck with them. Anyway when we tasted the one for our family they tasted stale. Almost freezer burned even though they didn't look freezer burned, so I had to throw them both away. I had destroyed the box already so I couldn't' check to see if they had an expiry date on them. But they were difineately stale. Yuk.... and they looked amazing too. Thought I'd share this with you so be aware of frozen crusts.
