Really don't give up,yes sometimes its a bit disappointing but wins do happen and usually when you least expect it! I haven't won anything since December/early January, but just like that win it was a while before I won anything meaningful and then out of the blue you end up winning something.
It does depend though if you do have the time to look at contests however. If you are too busy with other things in life (which does happen, I'm in one of those moments myself right now) then obviously you shouldn't spend too much time with them. Otherwise just set yourself a few minutes a day and apply to contests you really want. As a general rule of thumb, money and vacations will generally carry be the most popular and hence chances are rather slim. However focusing only on 1 time entries, if keeping track of multiple contests every single day becomes a hassle to you, might be an alternative. That way you spend max 2 min of your day and you'll have a very similar chance as everyone else who applied to that contest.
