Oh wait! totally forgot what I used to do when I was a young teenager I checked every random empty pack of smokes on the ground for over a year...and still sometimes check them when no one is looking....I found $120.00 one time..and a lighter!!!
    and various $5.00's and $20.00s!!!
I must say there were a lot of just empty ones...but totally worth the trouble for the few cash stuffed ones I did find
    Where is my mail?

This happened to us one year.

My father in law came to visit Christmas morning to watch the kids open presents. At the end he just up and abruptly left. We couldn't understand what was wrong. Later I was in the hall and happened to glance up and saw the cupboard door was slightly ajar. Lightbulb went off. We had stored his presents in there and had completely forgot about them.

I found $50.00 in Canadian Tire money under a rug in my closet. Great hiding place...who would look there. Obviously not me. Still haven't found the Canadian Tire Mastercard I hid. Did get a replacement though.

I have a few hiding spots. When I have a couple extra bucks I'll sometimes put it away for a day when it's really needed. So when I'm broke I go check a couple of my spots and see if anything is there. Sometimes there is, sometimes not. I always check pockets in clothes and purses before I get rid of them. I also hide away the $20 gift certificates I get from Metro (in Thunder Bay Metro doesn't give air miles, we get thunder bucks which transfer into gift certificates). I save them up all year and use them for the big grocery shop right before Christmas.

Still couldn't find $1000 cash from 2008 that I hid somewhere. I found $5 canadian tire money a few months ago when I did some cleaning around the house.
