I am a member at Penny Auctions Canada I bid on a $50.00 sport check gift card used 3 bids won it paid about $11.00 after bids and shipping added together for a $50.00 GC it works you just have to take the time to watch how it works and get the hang of who not to bid against ect

Sweet! I was skeptical that maybe there were bots there. Its good to know you can actually win something there.

I bid on a few items. Crossing my fingers. Their are quite a few items I like and they are fairly reasonable.

$7 shipping for a gc, but if it is worth $50 and I use only 2 points, it is costing me like $11 only.

I change my mind, I did buy the 25 pkg but ended up using all of it for one auction, won a $25 gc but spent $25. So not really a good deal unless you are lucky.

I was going to sign up for quibids yesterday. If you sign up they give you 5 free bids but you can't JUST get that, you also have to buy $50 worth of bids when you sign up. So I didn't do it. I'd like to know if anyone else has and if it was worth it/safe.

I actually won 2 auctions recently on Penny Auctions - 2x $25 WM GC's, and I paid about $15 in total for both, because I only used about 5 bids on each! I won them late last week and just received both my GC's today!

Penny Auctions Vs. QuiBids

Since you've posted this, ive been monitoring and participating on both sites, I've decided in about a day that QuiBids is a lot better then Penny Auctions, I think it's because they have more users they can give you better deals on what you get. I don't even want to discuss penny auctions lol, but on Qui Bids, here are my winnings..

$10 CT Gift Card - 6 Bids ($3.60) + $0.45 Auction + $2.99 = $7.04
$25 Costco Gift Card - 2 Bids ($1.20) + $0.45 Auction + $2.99 = $4.64
$25 Home Depot Card - 15 Bids ($9) + $2.06 Auction + $2.99 = $14.05

So, when you think about it, with these 3 GCs, I made $34.28

Also, if you bid on something and you don't win. You can use your bid value to buy the thing you're trying to win. Normally when you bid on something, your bids disappear and it's pretty much just lost forever. The websites are sort of like gambling I find, you pay your $0.60 a roll and you may win big, come out even, or nothing at all, but QuiBids lets you use your bid on a product to still get it for a lot less.

I purchased a $10 Costco Card for $7.98 (Close to the winning auction value) and a $25 Costco card for $13.38. Normally with my choice to gamble on this site, my bid would be lost in the wind, but I still had the chance to use my bid to get discounted products. So I made another $13.64, which brings my grand total to $47.92. I had to spend $67 (After tax) on a 100 bid pack, but as I won auctions and did things and got "rewards" I got lots of extra bids, about 20 in total, those continue to rack up as you continue to use the website. I currently have 17 bids left, but used 23 ( $13.60 ) bids to win $60, which isn't bad at all. So, as long as I use those 17 bids wisely to win atleast $20, I got my money back on the bid packs. Or I could luck out with more $25 auctions with 2 bids.

PinkLincoln - I definitely hear what you are saying about QuiBids. Maybe I'll try it out. I have one question about QuiBids - is it available in Canada for things other than gift cards? There wasn't any info I could find on their site. I see that you bought gift cards but I assume those are easy to deal with when it comes to shipping. What about notebooks etc.?

Another strategy that I think can be used is the opposite of what you said. If there are more users yes that means they can give you a better deal but that also means there are more people bidding, which means you have less of a chance at actually getting a really good deal.

My personal strategy is to find newer penny auction sites trying to establish themselves that have less users and get good deals that way.

Penny Auctions is less popular, and I feel is a waste of money. QuiBids has more users but there's been a few $10 GCs I've bid on and won for $0.01 because everyone online is bidding on the high price items.

I have no need for electronics, and I can't afford the amount of bids I'd need to win a tablet or TV or anything. Their return address is in Toronto, so I'm assuming it's open to all Canadian bidders for whatever the item is. The shipping info should be in the product info in the auction, they ship Canada post.

I like quibids, because if you get into a bidding war, you have the option of buying the item you're bidding on. Then the bids dont disappear and you lose your money.
