Toys R US - WARNING LONG RANT

Did anyone else take advantage of the Little People Buy 1 Get One Free? I wasn't going to at first but then I remembered about the $10 off from Today's Parent and decided to grab a few things and put them away! (I had every little people set going until I gave them all away thinking I was done having babies, now I have a 6 week old, hehe)

I was just reviewing my receipt and noticed it didn't work out the way I thought it would, and it should have been another $29 cheaper (with the $10 off coupon)

I bought:
3 items at $29.99
3 items at 24.99
2 items at $8.99

They took off $8.99 x2 plus $24.99, so NOT HAPPY!

I thought it would have have worked out to be 3 items at $24.99 and 1 at $8.99! I guess I should've got it all rung in separately! Worst part is I used one of the coupons from the Today's Parent to save $10, so I am sure I will lose out on that! ARRGGHH!

Do you think I will have to bring in all the items I purchased or just bring in my receipt to get it fixed?

I hope I haven't confused anyone, I know it confused me at first until I sat down and figured it all out!

What they did makes sense, it's always the lesser prices items which one gets free with a promo like this.
As for the $10 coupon, if it wasn't listed on your bill, that's not good - perhaps it couldn't be used combined with this BIGI offer, but still if you gave it to them, you are out that coupon - so definitely go to customer service about that.

The only other way this would have worked differently was, like you said, if you went and bought each pair separately -e.g.. two @ 29.99 - you would have gotten one free.

Yes, I will be going in today to buy everything again by the 2's, haha! Kinda sucks, but it's worth it in the end!

I just wonder whether I have to lug all my items back in or whether they can key it all in through the receipt!

I will bring it all with me just in case, I am an hours drive away and I plan on being there at noon when the store opens!

Well, I had absolutely NO problems today! The manager says it happens all the time and is CRAZY around Christmas time when they have all the buy one get one deals! He even gave me back $10 cash for the coupon that I used! Then rerang everything in by 2s!
