Just got back from Michigan. What an adventure this turned out to be. For the fifteen years I've been going to the races in Michigan this one had to be the hottest. I saw at least 10 people on stretchers being hurried out of the stands. Those EMS guys, I do not envy one bit. They did a great job. The races were great. Brad K. on Saturday and Happy Harvick on Sunday. My buddy who looks after the tix and everything got two passes for the Pre-Race Ceremony as well as Pit Passes for the whole weekend but only used them on Sunday. We let some of the other guys use them on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday for the pre-race we were 15 feet from the stage and I got pictures of every driver and the only one that turned out blurry was, yes you guessed it, Harvick's. Then on the way back we notice smoke coming from one of the other guys trailer and pulled him over just as a wheel bearing was going on the back of the trailer just before Chatham. Lucky one of the guys was a licensed mechanic, diagnosed the problem, popped into town and got the parts. After a 2 hour pit stop and being passed by lots of other race fans we were on our way again only to run into construction traffic. As my buddy said, "It's just another chapter!"
Will post some pix tomorrow, a bit tired. g'night

Hey I was there too! What turn were you at? We were at turn 3, great seats, for the price we paid.
I saw some EMS guys in our section. It was super duper hot, THE kids dh and I drank so much water! I am so burnt though
I even sunblocked myself 2x! At least the kids aren't burnt. All we could think of was jumping in the pool back at the Marriott! By the time we got to our truck at the end of the race the heat was really getting to me, I felt like I was going to be sick and collapse. Luckily resting in our A/C and a few bottles of water had me feeling better. What would be really funny is if you were sitting in my section, there was tons of Canadians around us!

We were sitting in Section 28 on the front straightway right across from Juan Pablo's pit. I've sat in turn three before and they are great seats for watching them race down the back straightway and through three and four. I really don't think there's a bad seat in the house if you are up high enough. I got a little burnt on the arms and neck (Insert redneck joke here!) and drank no beer at all Sunday at the track. In fact I gave away the four beers I took just so the cooler I had was totally empty and easier to carry!!! Glad you had a good time, check back tomorrow for some pix!!!
