A co-worker of mine passed away today.

She had a secondary tumour in her liver, the primary was never found. She was only 47. Left behind are a husband and two teenaged children.

Give your kids a hug, and never forget that each day is a gift.

    Don't sweat the small stuff.

My condolences to her family and friends.

We keep getting these not-so-gentle reminders of what's important in life.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your co-worker. Condolences to her friends and family. Yes it is a reminder about the appreciation of life. 47 is definitely too young.

A few folks have asked how my friend Karen is doing. So far, it has been nothing short of a miraculous recovery. Karen had a pulmonary embolism when she was admitted, had to be revived 3 times that night, developed pnemonia and suffered a stroke while in the hospital. After a week in ICU, the hospital were successful in removing the ventilator and assited breathing equipment. Since then, Karen has been able to get up out of bed and take very short walks as therapy.

She still has numbness and limited usage of her right side but she has been progressing amazingly. The hospital is trying to make arrangements to transfer her to an outside facility for some intense therapy. She still has a long way to go, but the prognosis is good. Considering it didn't look as though she would survive the first night or few days, it is unbelievable how far she has come.

that is so sad, my condolences to her family & friends. just heard about a co-worker here is at a hospice. he was battling cancer last year & it seemed he had made it. he was back at work, but last week started feeling weak & went back for his check up. turns out cancer is back & has spread through out his body. he has decided against any more treatment & they figure he might make it till the end of the week. just seems like a waste. i feel sorry for his family, i know what they went thru the first time & how happy they were when he seemed to have pulled thru, just to have it all for not. the only good part, i guess is that he had about a year more with his family.
