So sorry to hear of the loss of your co-worker. Condolences to her friends and family. Yes it is a reminder about the appreciation of life. 47 is definitely too young.


A few folks have asked how my friend Karen is doing. So far, it has been nothing short of a miraculous recovery. Karen had a pulmonary embolism when she was admitted, had to be revived 3 times that night, developed pnemonia and suffered a stroke while in the hospital. After a week in ICU, the hospital were successful in removing the ventilator and assited breathing equipment. Since then, Karen has been able to get up out of bed and take very short walks as therapy.

She still has numbness and limited usage of her right side but she has been progressing amazingly. The hospital is trying to make arrangements to transfer her to an outside facility for some intense therapy. She still has a long way to go, but the prognosis is good. Considering it didn't look as though she would survive the first night or few days, it is unbelievable how far she has come.

....that's fabulous news!!!....finally, a positive outcome for someone.....tell her I am cheering her on, therapy is sooo not easy....TR

Boston released its self-titled album, which became the best-selling, debut Rock album of all time.

Boston's 1976 debut self-titled hit album did what few albums have even been able to do. It went platinum 17 times! It's an album that plays like a Boston's greatest hits because 6 of the 8 songs were released as singles over the course of two years. For many people, it pretty much defined the AOR sound. Legend is that the demos were recorded on a home 8 track recorder, but they sounded so good that the record company released them as is, no studio editing needed.
