If you are into canning and preserving fruits and vegetables Sat and Sun is Heritage Parks big harvest sale. They bring in truckloads of fruits and vegetables and sell them apparently low low prices. I have never gone but this year I am trying to put up preserves so might be going to check it out. Has anyone here gone before?

I have heard abt it but never went. I did check out their website and found the summer admission price was a bit high : $19/adult, $14/kid, it would cost us 50 bucks (after cpn price) just to get in.

Would love to see all the fruits and vegetables though as I have been growing some in my own backyard.

has anyone been to heritage park lately? I'm wondering if you have to pay extra to ride the paddle boat and go for a train ride?

Cost for the rides at Heritage park are $3.15 per ride. The train ticket is valid for all day. Or you can purchase a ride braclet for $ 10.50 to cover all the rides ( Train, Boat, Wagon and all the rides in the amusement Park ). There are tickets around for free train rides as well as a 2 for 1 entrance coupon in the entertainment book and a 50% off a second admission coupon on www.calgaryattractions.com

I have been to the heritage park fall harvest sale a few times (not for a few years though). It is always crazy busy and lots of fun. Everything is in bulk so you need to bring wagons, dollys (or both) to get your produce back to the vehicle. I will be going again tomorrow as we got seasons passes this year. If you are thinking of going be there early to get the best selection, some things sell out within the first hour (strawberries etc) - I usually have gone there well before they open and have been amazed at how many people are already in line.
If you are going to go to the park with your kids plan on getting a ride pass as the train, boat, ferris wheel and other rides are extra and the kids will want to go on them.
