Expired(if this is in the wrong area move it please)
Does anyone else get really nervous (sweaty, shaky) when shopping with coupons, and esp. when PM. I find lately that If im out shopping even if i've planned ahead and done the 'research' with all my coupons and flyers etc. I still get nervous.. like they are watching me.. Its worse if i happen to see an 'extra' deal, I start looking through my book.. and I start to shake. like Y.. the store has deals for customer to buy them.. the store still gets the money from the company for their product.. and yet. Im always getting nervous. i try to take a few moments in a back aisle somewhere and collect myself, but its still weird. Anyone else.. I have to say though. I still use them and find myself using ALOT more than I did when I started. which im very proud of. as Im nearly finished my christmas shopping.. stuffers and all. How do you all get over this.. OR am I just weird, crazy. This thread is currently associated with: N/A

It's like a weird combination of nerves, AND excitement lol. I'm a little nervous that there will be some sort of "confrontation" lol, cause there is always I chance. But I'm also horribly excited standing there at the cash thinking "omg, I'm about to save $150 dollars!" I mean, if you WON $150 wouldn't you shake with excitement? lol It is funny though isn't it, how emotionally draining couponing can be! It's well worth it, but it's not for the weak! lol

And the more you do it, the easier it will get. You will get into situations and arguments along the way, and you will win some, and you will lose some. However, as time goes on it will get much easier, and you will care less and less who's going to say what, who's watching, etc, etc. lol

I know what you mean! I always feel some sort of anxiety because I start thinking to myself "Well what if they say I can't use this coupon, how embarassing will that be in front of everyone else in the line!". I'm always nervous about using a lot of coupons, when there is line up of people behind me. I feel much less nervous, when no one is in line behind me.

I get more anxious when I am hunting for coupons... as I am grabbing them, but not grabbing the products... The guilt comes down big time on me!!
I am typically ok, until they object or ask silly questions... like "is Coke Zero a CocaCola product".... that tends to set me off, as they should know there products.
I love the outcome, so I just live with it!

So true, I don't like when the cashier gets all mad about the coupons! They should be happy for us!

What I do is pile them up in my cart and then when I get to the cash in line I put them all in my purse so there are usually lots of people around. SO far no one has asked me but I would gladly open it up to show them. My friends daughter works at IGA and she says they have tons of cameras everywhere so chances are you are on film. LOL They even keep a wanted poster for shoplifters inthe offices upstairs.
As for when it comes time to use them at the cash I am always ready for a fight. LOL Usually the outcome is good though.

im like that too... more-so about the possibility of a confrontation even though i'm not doing anything wrong. i find wm to be one of the worst ( i dont know if anyone elses wm is like this but they dont just enter the coupon at my superstore - but they have to write some number on the coupon from the recepit. i hate that) or at rcss they have a $10 limit and then they call over the manager. always happens when its a full line. anywho, you're not alone

A little but definitely not enough to hinder my coupon use.
I have had a manager tell me I couldn't take coupons without buying the products at Sobeys. I pointed out where it said take one on the pad and he shrugged and walked away but I do have those is someone watching me taking the coupons moments
I do feel a little more anxiety about it when I have a huge lineup behind me and they end up waiting because the cashier needs to read the coupon ten times over and then ask a question like is coke zero a coke product

It's kind of like crossing the border to the U.S.! LOL Even when you know you have done nothing wrong and not tried to sneak anything in, you still get nervous! Well, I do.
I used $54 in coupons yesterday and felt proud of myself. Felt bad for the people in line behind me though.
Went to the new Wal-Mart in Hamilton on Upper James today and it was crazy busy! The cashier was great taking all my coupons and said she is on save.ca, etc. Usually at Wal-Mart, they scan them so carefully, so today was a nice surprise!
Maybe this is part of the reason we like couponing.....it gets the adrenalin pumping! LOL
