In part, yes. As much as we try to be 'equal', there are just basic male and female differences. I learned to not expect my husband to be like a girlfriend, the relationship is different, yet we are closer. I can rant to a gf and she's going to just listen, empathize, we'll have a bit of a pity party; my husband will want to give solutions.
I just think we are wired differently, and that's not a bad thing. My husband and I share basic core values for our marriage, our family, and our outlook on life, but other than that we are very different creatures. Thus, we balance one another. I don't want my husband feminized, I like that he's a manly-man.
