I was only familiar with the "Meet the Flintstones" opening of the show. It wasn't until I bought the first season of the series on DVD that I saw the original opening. Derringer pointed out this morning that the "Meet the Flintstones" opening didn't start the series until the third season.

Something else Derringer mentioned this morning. He said The Flintsones were the first male / female couple to share a single bed on television. This is actually only half-true. This honour belongs to "Mary Kay and Johnny", which had a concept similar to I Love Lucy. It ran from 1947 through 1950. They got around the conservative censors of the time, because they were an actual married couple. (couldn't have UNWED people sharing the same bed, yanno. Impressionable minds and all!)

The first live-action couple to share a bed? Lilly and Herman Munster.



The first human couple to share a bed were, if I'm not mistaken, The Bradys?



The first toilet SEEN on television? Leave it to Beaver.

The first toilet heard on television? Not until Archie Bunker in the 70's. (with six kids, two parents and a maid, even the Bradys didn't have a toilet!)

Jeezzz. With all this secrecy about what goes on behind closed doors it's a wonder any of us were even born.

Yep. They're being bribed to not complain too loudly (wouldn't want the neighbours to break my door down thinking I was in trouble). They're still stuck with me in the mornings, it's just dinner that will be at odd hours. I know I'll pay for this next week. Oh well, it's only once a year.
