Glad I stumbled onto this thread, I received a bill for $47 which I supposedly owed Blockbuster. I didn't have any late fees and I wondered if it was a scam of some sort, thankfully I didn't pay it!

remember: (re what I wrote earlier)
they always have to produce what you asked for, failure to do so is to your benefit
only works if 3 letters are consecutive 1st one, ten days later 2nd one, 10 days later 3'rd letter
the 3rd letter IS your judgement you can and should send those copies to the credit bureau
to not do this, can ruin your credit if you just ignore it. I believe they are scamming, but the law is still on there side unless you take action to make it on yours
If they write back with no evidence, its just a bluff and meaningless.START THE CAR....START THE CAR!!!!!

To everyone here reading this - Credit Bureau Services Canada is a collections agency. The only two agencies in Canada which are part of what we call the Credit Bureau are Equifax and TransUnion. Unless the letters are from one of those, I would stop worrying. If you want to know which companies actually have posted to the credit bureau the information of what you owe them, contact one of those agencies and ask for a copy of your credit report.
