Check if there is a warranty at all. Have read those who have contacted Kobo Customer Service that there is none even if it arrives DOA. Get the $95 Sony instead.

I got a Kindle for Christmas! I'm a bit disappointed at the prices of Kindle books though, they're often more expensive than the paper versions! There's lots of free ones out there though.

your best bet is the blackberry playbook. It has kobo installed.
comes with a full browser, word and excel to go and email apps on google, msn, yahoo, etc. its wifi ready and 199 you can't beat that.

If someone is looking for a dedicated ereader, i don't know why people suggest tablets. Is it just that you guys have never actually used an e-ink screen before?

I would never, ever, ever recommend to a reader to get a backlit LCD screen tablet over the beauty that is e-ink!
Ever since I got my Kindle I'm amazed at how much more I am reading books. These devices are awesome. A single charge can last 1-2 months. Backlit LCD screens can cause eye strain and headaches after extended periods of use. With an e-ink screen it's similar to reading off paper. You don't have to worry about any strain, you can read for hours.
