Chickypoodles - Metro is very sticky about coupon use so I always ask at the customer service desk or a manager before I use coupons I am unsure about, but I was using the $1.00 off for the veggies that I purchased and then because I purchased one I was able to use the get one free coupon. I think that as long as the coupon for the original item doesn't make it free you can use a BIGI along with that item. Always check with the store first though, it seems to make life a whole lot easier.

WTG on your bonus AirMiles. To get the 81 that you had, you would normally have to spend 1760, on regular shopping. And you are almost half way there on AirMiles to get the 20 dollar gift card.
Awesome.
We spent 21 dollars and got 34 AirMiles today, using the bonus AirMiles stragegy for our groceries, like you did.

thanks for responding to the question rigatti and 2010ontest! grrr, i should have searched for this post before i went out this afternoon! but that's ok, i can use that info at a later date i'm sure! i will check with customer service before i try to use both coupons.
i managed to get these items (spur of moment shopping after visiting the dentist at a town about 45 minutes away...wut i'm not going that far and not shopping )
10 6pk V8 juice $1.99-.75 ea =12.40
1 Johnsonville saussage $3.99 - $2 printable =$1.99
1 Nutrigrain superfruit $2.49-.75 = $1.74
1 8pk Oasis juice $3.99 - FPC
1 Selections canned corn $.99
Total OOP $17.12
Original total before coupons $31.36 = 15 Bonus AM coupon
5 Bonus AM wub Selections canned veg
2 x 15 bonus AM wub 5 V8
1 AM for over $20 purchase
= 51 airmiles
would have bought the arctic frozen veg also!
oh, i should mention that the cashier got the most snarled up face on her when i produced the coupons...was grinding her teeth, squinting at the screen (not the coupons..if you can believe it), was leaned over on the conveyor...and looked like she was going to ask me to go to another check-out...i just smiled and thought "i guess she has way more money than i do"Last edited by chickypoodles; Mon, Dec 12th, 2011 at 08:10 PM.

I don't know if anybody is aware of this but if you can take your HBC points and convert them into airmiles. It works out to 2,000 HBC = 1 airmile. It can be a one time thing or you can schedule for a weekly transfer. I recently changed mine over and it didn't take much time for it to be processed.
