Good morning everyone! First and foremost, this is my first post, although I have been visiting this site for over two years! Thank you all for you assistance, bargains etc...although I have been 'stealth", it was always appreciated!

Well its time to start getting active on this site, and after yesterdays visit to Costco I figured its a good place to start!

In trying to scoop up deals for Christmas ahead of time, I went to Costco and noticed (and bought) a number of clearance items, which I know typically ends it .97 cents. yesterday I was fortunate to pick up 3 piece Calvin klein outfits for my newphews for only $14.97. I have been eyeing them for two months and scooped them up immediately.

My question is: is there a time frame of when Costco usually puts their items on clearance? Is it random? Or is it a set day of the month? any insight would be helpful. I have my eye on a few other items that I know will be marked down, just waiting patiently.

    Thanking you all in advance!

they do! Any price tag that has a .97 at the end of it, is clearance, for example, the Calvin Klein outfit for kids was originally $23.99....dropped to $14.97 this week to get rid of them because their not going to restock that style specifically.

random.....and once things hit clearance, they go quickly.

the other day I spotted a small pallet of bakeware on clearance; I stopped to look, other shoppers stopped to see what I was looking at, the pallet was emptied in a few minutes.

Costco reduces on a seasonal basis as well and will honour a price drop so it's always a good idea to keep your receipts.. As long as they still have the product on the sales floor, they will give you the price difference. And NO, if you see it in one location, go home and get your receipt and take another location, they may not give you the difference if that location does not have the product. Voice of experience here, I used to work the returns desk I used to tell people to keep their Costco receipts in the glove box of your car for just that kind of thing.

*** Look for the asterik *** in the upper right hand corner, that usually means that the product is no longer available, so a price reduction may happen.

Most mark downs happen on Mondays when the sign audits are done and the new merchandise in worked into the aisles. The mark downs come from head office in Ottawa and are usually automatic in all buildings at the same time, same day...Monday mornings. Hope this helps....16 years there and counting!
