I'm a Nikon gal at heart. What kind of lens came with it? I imagine a kit lens but I'm curious about the other one... The 2nd lens is stumping me though

I've also seen the 32GB SD card for cheaper elsewhere. Otherwise, it sounds like you got a pretty good deal.Last edited by Brynhilde; Tue, Dec 27th, 2011 at 11:21 AM.

Congrats on the new camera!
I got the T2i this year after dropping my T1i in the pool this past summer.. :-(
$599 from Best buy, included a kit lens, extra battery and bag.
Was going pick up the 50mm 1.8 portrait lens..but they were sold out everywhere.
I personally don't think that the T3i us worth it as your just paying for the adjustable screen..

Congrats! I love my rebel. Definitely check out the 50mm 1.8 lens, sometimes it goes on sale for $99 - it's the only lens I have used for the past 4 years - its awesome!!

Anyone else considering Canon should look at Nikon instead, with Canon you get a 1 year warranty, with Nikon you get a 2 year on the body, and 5 years on the lenses. Not to mention Canon has awful customer support.
Also, don't shop at futureshop where you are just another faceless customer, shop somewhere (like London Drugs) that will give you personalized help and service. Futureshop isn't going to help you figure out the settings on your camera, LD will. (and you can pricematch there!)

^Great post.
I've never had a problem with Nikon, their camera bodies, lens or other products. Always go to an authorized Nikon dealer and/or a store with people knowledgeable about DSLRs.

^^ Eh, and I have never had a problem with my 2 Canon SLR's/Lens I have owned in the past 5 years. Have also owned 3 different Canon point and shoots - that I bought at Futureshop - one them had a bit of a loose USB port after two years, so Futushop let me get a brand new camera with a brand new warranty and I still got $50 back thanks to their PSP plan.
Everyone is going to have their own experience. I have been really happy with my Canon - I went with Canon because I had been really happy with my point and shoot. Lots of my friends are happy with their Nikons and their Canons.
I don't think it matters what way you go, both are good and people are going to have good and bad experiences with both.Last edited by sotypical; Fri, Dec 30th, 2011 at 01:34 PM.
