This is my Pembroke Welsh Corgi Dakoozi and his buddy Flash having some snuggle time
Dakoozi is 1 year old and Flash is probably 3 or 4 months old.
The name Dakoozi means "he is short" in Ojibway and if you have seen a Corgi before you know that they are a medium sized dog with short little legs.
Dakoozi is with me 24/7, He comes to work at my office with me every day and greets customers with his belly sticking up in the air for a belly rub
He has major attitude and sometimes I swear he is worse than a child.....but for the most part he is a very well behaved gentleman.
Dakoozi and Flash have a love hate relationship. My Dad found Flash on the highway near their house with his lip split open and his round belly was full of worms
we got him to the vet and all fixed up and now he is as good as new
Dakoozi enjoys dragging him around by his neck (like a mother cat would do) chasing him up the Christmas tree and then snuggling with him lol
Dakoozi will eat pretty much anything. Lastnight he tried some brussel sprouts and enjoyed them. He loves any kind of fruit or vegetable but especially bananas and carrots!
I hope you enjoy the picture! I think it is pretty cute

Well I cant put up any pics in my post but Tucker is the dog below in my signature.
I rescued him in 2003 from a Dog Rescue facility out of St. Thomas. He wasn't abused but was very very much neglected. He was taken from a farm where he had been chained to a dog house since he was a pup. He was around 2 when he was rescued. He was horribly underweight, around 45-50 lbs and had no socialization. He has scars all over his back legs from when he would get tangled in the chain and couldn't free himself on his own. His bottom front teeth are also worn down from him chewing on the chain in attempts to untangle/free himself.
For a dog that went through such a rough time in the beginning you would think his perception of humans wouldn't be the best, considering that he had minimal contact with people the first years of his life. But he definately got over his initial hesitations and im proud to say he is a wonderful, smart, crazy funny 80lb misfit who has fully come out of his shell. It took alot of patience on my part & his to teach him manners & basic commands. But it totally paid off in the end.
His main mix is Border Collie & Husky, but im sure something else is thrown in there cause his ears are huge!!!
Tricks that he knows:
Sit up
Paw (he'll give you one, then if you ask for the other paw he'll switch)
Crawl
Weave (I'll walk and he'll weave through my legs as im walking, a little hazardous considering im only 5'2 so there's not much space for him to weave through!)
He'll bark loud when you say "do you want it?" then if you say Shhhhhh...he'll bark softly.
Back up
Touch
and the normal obecdience commands, down, sit, stay, come, leave it etc.
He's such a smart guy and was very easily trained. His favourite thing to do is fetch...he'll keep playing till he's about dead and I have to stop the game.
But his favourite toys are anything squeaky....
When i first brought him home he was afraid of anything that squeaked....he'ld drop the toy and shy away from it.
Now, I can't keep enough of them in stock!
anyway...I know this is long...so I'll stop..but i could go on & on about what a great dog he turned out to be!

Cowie is a Border CollieX ? It would explain his intelligence and independence (ie. insisting on his walks). What a smart little bugger!
I love that gangly stage where they're tripping over their legs all the time and they still have to grow into their ears
. I'm sure Auntie Maggie will keep him occupied while your daughter is away
.

What a perfect match then! I wonder what all that rolling is about? One of our past fosters used to do the same and it took us forever to take even short walks, lol. Is it their version of bathing? The cold feels good? Are they trying to rub their scents onto the snow? Wouldn't it be great if they could talk? Well, maybe not...my two would forever be nagging for food and off-leash runs, lol.
Corgi's are full of attitude...they definitely know what they want! What a lucky fellow Dakoozi is to get to go to work with you! (Btw, a kitty contest will follow this one so be sure to enter Flash then
). Adorable photo!

Oh, I hope you send updates on Tucker to the rescue you adopted him from. These are the uplifting success stories that encourage them to keep on what they're doing
. What a perfect match! His colors remind me of a either a Border Collie or an Australian Shepherd. Wonder if he has some Kelpie in him too (those ears!! lol).

Nope, I take that back about the Collie and Shepherd, lol. His head shape and ears look like Australian Cattle dog, don't they? http://www.google.ca/search?q=austra...w=1366&bih=574

I'd like to enter my puppy Mika. She is a 2 months old border collie mix. She is a lively addition to our home. She loves to grab your socks right off your feet and she is off and running with them. She is the perfect companion for my 10 yr old daughter, the two of them run through the house. My SO is a diehard Toronto Maple Leafs fan and Mika even has her own Toronto Maple Leaf coat! I am neiw here, so not sure how to post her pic yet. I will figure it out soon

This is my baby Princess Leia. The first picture was taken a few days after we got her, almost three years ago. The second picture is her snuggling up to Uncle Lukey (My DS's Godfather) and her baby brother.
She loves meeting new people and fur friends, so winter is always hard on her. This winter has been especially hard because Leia got a new baby brother, and like any only child, she wasn't sure she wanted to share in the love at first. But now she and Noah are the best of friends and her favourite thing is licking his face clean after dinner!
Leia is a very expressive dog. When she wants to be pet, she comes up and lays her paw on your arm. If you ignore her, she'll start pawing at you until you give in. My favourite trick is HUG! She jumps up on her hind legs, puts her paws on you shoulders and squeezes.
Her favourite toy is a rubber chicken with no head. She's had about thirteen of them. (It originally had a head but she and daddy play too rough and it gets ripped off every time. Then she tries to eat all the stuffing and the squeaker.) I'd love to find a rubber chicken that could withstand the rough play, but so far, no luck!
Thank you snuffaluffagus for this wonderful contest!!

I hadn't seen this thread yet! That's for letting me know
Yep...this was baby Gus, the English Bulldog, last Easter...

I could pick him up for a couple of weeks...he was quiet and sweet
AND NOW THIS IS WHAT HAS TRANSPIRED:

75 lbs of unmovable, destructive stubborness.
Gus thinks he is a lap dog,
runs around like a holy terror chasing his buddy Leo, (my rat terrier) crashing into furniture (or me) and sending it (or me)
flying across the room. Gus loves people, his toys, sleeping after bouts of craziness, and trying to climb on the couch like a stealth ninja when no one is looking. His dislikes include ceiling fans, (stands in the hall way and barks at them
) and being told no.
In short...it is a three ring circus around here with these two! HAHAH They both stop what they are doing and try to look innocent when I try to record them. Leo looks guilty and Gus avoids eye contact altogether
They constantly hammer up my walls,
have done all kinds of damage to my furniture, there is fluff from murdered plush toys everywhere on a a regular basis...oh...and neither of them listen to me, so yeah just like little unruly children!!

Love this thread - I have too sleeping dogs lying outside my room. Nothing like a playtime and play fight in the yard to burn some calories off.
little_orch - that is the cutest pic ... such "innocence" - never think he'd chase the cat up the tree or carry it about.
Here's Maggie, my sweetie, with my dd
