Dr Poon's Metabolic Diet.

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone here on the board has heard of, or is on Dr Poon's Metabolic Diet?

It's only available in the GTA and requires a physician referral to be considered for the program.

The best part (unlike other programs where you lower your caloric intake to certain number of calories a day or less or go with meal replacements every other day), this one is covered by OHIP and healthy.

However, in order to be referred, you need to have a pre-existing condition (ie: diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, etc) to be considered.

Just wondering if there are any others who are on the program on the site?

My sister is following this program, she lost over 46 pounds for 7 months.

Someone started a thread about this a few weeks ago, but I can't find it.

I was on the diet, I had the book and followed it with my BF - we never went to the clinic we did it alone. I lost 40 pounds in 2 months (half was water weight!!)
and he lost 60 in 3 started running and since loosing the weight has done numerous half marathons (training for one right now!)

Its hard! HOLY COW the first 2 weeks I thought I was in hell lol but boy does it drop fast. DRINK LOTS OF WATER!! I got a kidney stone bc I wasn't drinking enough - I had to go to emerg and after that I stopped the diet bc I was scared lol
