Thread: Need some help....

Hello everyone, I'm hoping that someone will be able to help me. I would like to find the best place to get relatively cheap prescription glasses, prescription sunglasses, and contact lenses. I prefer to try on glasses, so it would have to be a store. I've always gotten everything from the eye doctors office, so I'm unsure of how to go about going somewhere else. Ideally, I would like to find out if there are any places that give a deal when you are buying multiple items. Any ideas?

Costco has good prices for their glasses and contact lenses. It's really busy there, so you might have to wait to get service, unlike at your eye doctor's office.
Some places have two for one deals, but I find that the prices are often more expensive for the first pair, so how much are you really saving?

I bought my glasses from clearlycontacts.ca
I paid $53 for the first pair with shipping, and just shipping ($12.01) for the second pair. They are very nice glasses, and each pair came with their own hard case, cleaning cloth & mini screwdriver for any adjustments if needed.
I think it took 6 to 8 days from the day of order to shipment arrival.

I think it also depends a lot upon the brand you chose..especially for the frames like say designer brand names v/s no name etc.
But most places will give you a quick quote over the phone or even in person.
Just walk into a WM , Zellers , Hakim Opticals , Sears Opticals etc and get a quote and then chose the one you like the most..usually they are all in one area close to each other to compete with each other..so you need not drive all over the place.

I get my glasses at Costco too.
My bf dropped my glasses in the ocean and I was worried I'd have to wander around blind for months while I saved up $500+ for a new pair, but Costco was $150 all in, and even offered a second complete pair for another $30.
They don't have much choice in men's frames though - so recently bf had to buy his at Lens Crafters. For considerable more than $150.....

Thanks everyone for your input. I don't have too many options in the town where I live, but I don't mind the 40 minute drive to Barrie where I will have more options. Thanks again, I will phone around for some quotes first.
