For the past three weeks I've been taking advantage of the Scanning Code of Practice and find at least one thing on my bill that is wrong, up until today they've always been under $5.
Today 2 things were the wrong price on my bill at SuperStore.
1. I got a 5 lb bag of apples $3.99 for Free, because they charged me $4.99.
2. I got a Hot Wheels R/C Nano on sale for $22 for free, because they charged me the regular price $29.99. It is only supposed to be maximum $10 off, but when I questioned him, he said the manager said I got both for free. SWEET!
It takes an extra 20 minutes to got to Customer Service and have the price confirmed, but for $26 (no tax either) in savings it was worth the time. This thread is currently associated with: Real Canadian Superstore RCSS

I've wanted to try that but I'm scared of the looks I'll get from the cashier and even more the people in line behind me

Awesome! I've had a lot of these the past few weeks. At Walmart I paid $22 for a few items & couldn't see the items scanning through. I checked my receipt while I was walking away & realized THREE things scanned incorrectly. I went to customer service (no line, yay!) & got a refund of $10. I'm actually excited when things scan wrong now, haha! Even if it's just a difference of 20 cents, it's worth speaking up about it because you get it for free. The only time I just let it go is when the differnece is minimal & the store is crazy crazy busy & I know it's going to be a huge hassle for them to price-check.

I haven't gotten the nerve up yet to try doing that yet. I think I had something from Zellers that was charged incorrectly last week so I'm planning on going back there in the next couple of days to check it out. Is there any problem if a number of days go by between the time of purchase and when you go back?

I still don't have the nerve to do it. RCSS is brutal for incorrect signage.

That's true ...Zellers doesn't participate in SCOP ...they only participate in SCOP in Quebec since SCOP is the law in QC & is mandatory in QC , its not optional or voluntary like in other provinces .
Hence Z is forced to participate in SCOP in QC but doesn't do so in other provinces ..but they ( Z ) still have to give it to you at the lower advertised price in other provinces ( but not SCOP )
