So yesterday my daughter turned one (Still am having a hard time believing my baby girl is now one year old! - time has flew by so fast!) Anyways, this isn't a couponing brag entirely but a crafting brag. The theme for her party was Ladybug.. as when I was pregnant with her, we didn't find out what gender she was before giving birth, so I wanted a gender neutral name to refer to the little one in my tummy. One day the words "snug as a bug in mommy's tummy" popped into mind and Bug it was.
She was called Bug the whole 9 months of pregnancy then at birth, she was given the name Lillianna.. Lilly for a nickname... another one being Lilly BugSo my family got into it and have been giving her lady bug things - so I figured for her first birthday why not celebrate that.
I made the invitations by hand and also the birthday banner - I couldn't find anything that matched really well to her theme.
I used cardstock for the banner and invites. It just happened that that week I needed to get cardstock paper in 3 colors, Michaels was having a sale on cardstock - 3/9.99 and brass tacks on sale for 2.99 as well. It was awesome! :D
I'm inculding a picture of the banner - I had forgotten to take a picture of the invite itself
I had also made some extra ladybugs and put them on a green tablecloth. I thought it'd look like they were hanging out on grass
Edit: EEK! Any hints about how to resize the pictures???? :SThis thread is currently associated with: Michaels Arts and CraftsLast edited by flyinghands; Tue, Apr 10th, 2012 at 07:16 PM.

Those came out really cute! Nicely done.
Sorry, don't know about resizing with the new layout, lol. I haven't uploaded anything yet.

Love it! I've always called DH Hunny Bear, and when we got a puppy, she hopped around in the snow like a bunny rabbit, so she was nicknamed Hunny Bunny. When DS was born, I knew right away that he was my little Hunny Bee! My mother (aka Gramma) insists on calling him Hunny Bear though! LOL.
For resizing, when you are putting the picture in, or in edit mode, just double click the picture itself and a pop up window will come up, you can choose small, medium, large or actual size I believe!
