My Walmart also accept Rexall coupons....the manager told me they do not get their money back from the coupons but Walmart does it anyway to keep our business....So if they are telling me it is ok I am going with what they say....my manager at the Walmart I shop at is a great lady and she is not an underpaid cashier..... I am happy you got the deals you did Mssavvycanadian and am sorry for the negative comments left for you....enjoy your brag and do not let anyone take away from it.thumbs up!

The Wal-Mart managers know their policies, they can probably choose to follow them or not. They might been told during their team meetings to follow the policy at their discretion. The policy stops many of us from going in and getting the Lysol (too much hassle sometimes, so we don't try) for those that do, because wal-mart is trying to be competative they take the coupons.
    So happy Lysol shopping everyone!

So when a competitor sells Lysol for (less than cost - ie $1) and you PM the flyer - WM likely doesn't make any money on that either and there's no reimbursement from anyone. Why is that ok but it's wrong to ask WM to accept a competitor's coupon???

It's absolutely ok if the WM is willing to take the coupon - they reason that most customers will buy other things that they will make money on, not just the few items you want to PM. They want to keep you shopping in WM and out of their competitors' stores - it's their business strategy!

Your missing the point completely. When WM price matches they are still selling you a product, yes, for less then they want, but you are still handing over money for it.

When WM accepts competitor coupons like this they are giving the item to you for free. Its listed as $2 and the coupon is $2 off, so they aren't making money whereas with the price matching they are.

I'm not sure why so many people are confused as to how this with the Rexall coupons isn't wrong and how they are comparing it to price matching. They are two completely different things. One (PM'ing) WM gets money. Two, competitor coupons like in this case they get nothing. Huge difference.

    Go Winnipeg Girl, Go!
    The way I see it:
    a) you asked if it was allowed, so of course you weren't trying to cheat the system and be sneaky about it.
b)Even if walmart made NO money off of your Lysol purchases, they still make $$ off your other purchases, which is still a gain to them, because you are not shopping somewhere else! All stores are competitve, so by allowing these competitor coupons (at their own discretion) they are keeping you as a customer.

    So, GREAT SCORE, girl!

Did you pm at walmart for the coke too?

Why would Walmart want to keep your business? You're costing them money.

If the specific store allows it, you aren't doing anything wrong. Obviously they have their reasons for allowing it when most other stores don't. Whatever the case, if management approves it, such as the case with my local WM, then the customer is doing a darn thing wrong. A customer can't be blamed for what stores allow. Whether it makes sense or not.

In the bigger picture, if I am bringing my competitor's flyers or coupons to WM, chances are I will be purchasing other items there too. Therefore they will have my business and make a profit off of me. After having good experiences there with coupon use I may decide to regularly shop at WM for my everyday needs and if I occationally use coupons that "cost" them a small margin of the bill I'm sure they would rather have that than taking my business elsewhere. Hope that helped answer your question.

^^^ Exactly! Whether it's the rest of your list or an impulse buy; you will for sure end up spending money one way or another! I spend $40 unplanned at WM today when I was just planning on going in for another box of Finish which they were sold out of.
Because WM does things like take competitor coupons, PM's etc. I do all my shopping there except the odd trip to NF's. If they didn't do these things, I would hardly be in there.
