Airmiles raising cost for Sobeys gift certs again!

Hey all, not quite sure where this is supposed to be, feel free to move!

I just noticed in my Sobeys (atlantic) flyer that they're raising the airmiles redemption for Sobeys certificates March 5th! It will now cost 190 Airmiles for $20 and 475 AM for $50...

cash in now if you need them!!

Geez, I keep inching closer to my first redemption & then they just raise the price!

When I saw that in my flyer I was so ticked! I mean its free food regardless but really? they just upped the points a few months ago....do they really need to do it again? imo most ppl who use their points for the gift certificate do it because we need it to feed our families and if they keep putting it up up up soon it wont be worth people spending the extra at those stores to earn the points.... they will just go to the stores where things are cheaper to begin with. I know I will...

I saw that this morning too! I just cashed out for $80 in gift certificates, for some reason I knew it was coming!

For frigs sake! Airmiles just keeps getting worse and worse.

Now it matches the rate of the new "cash reward" value where $10=95 AM. Remember last summer when they were $20=140 AM. Now, those 50 extra airmiles for the same $20 voucher is a 35% decrease in value in roughly 7 months. Not too happy.

I just realized it is Atlantic, yeah they raised our Metro one a while ago, annoying. I just cashed out my AM for $200.00 in Metro vouchers in Jan, was not happy using 1750 AM to do it.

Be sure to lodge a complaint with Sobeys so they know you are ticked off.

(When they raised Airmiles redemption for Metro to new and ridiculous heights I made sure to lodge a written complaint with Metro.)

Don't waste your time complaining to Airmiles though, they're just parasites who provide zero value to goods and services. This hike is to pay their staff to administer the Airmiles program, not to provide the customer with any real value.

Use 'em or lose 'em, airmiles is going down the tubes.
I cashed out all my airmiles before they went up last time and now I cash 'em out as soon as I reach the $20 limit.
I'll probably fill out a comment card in store and otherwise shop elsewhere except for deals.
