I like your idea about jars!!!
We had a terrible time with telemarketers last year until I added us to the national do not call list- it took about a month or so to kick in, and the call's have greatly reduced. (we still get a few, silly air duct cleaning!) Try it, it can only help!
I am plum tuckered tonight. Today I have finally finished painting my living room and hall (it looks great, a nice and fresh white after thirty years of blah beige). I used Rona's eco paint. Not only is it recycled paint (yay for recycling), but it was also about half the price of the regular wall paint. So, if you are thinking of painting, try looking at that stuff first :) I need to get a new curtain rod and odds and ends, so next week I'll head to the ReStore out by my work and poke around, they have lots of great stuff there for good prices.
Made muffins tonight as well, so we have something to snack on over the next couple days. Have a great evening everyone- I'm off to have a cuppa and a chocolate chip banana muffin!
It's another day of approaching-spring!
And a sure sign of spring is spring-cleaning and painting. ;)
Today:
Work on the To-Do List, prioritized.
Make every hour count for something.
Have a great day, everyone!
Spring is not here yet in Southern Ontario. Another blizzard today with 5 -10cm of snow.
Went to playgroup with youngest DD but no one showed up due to weather. Oh well it was nice to get out. Afterwards we went to the post office to pick up the mail and I finally got my furnace rebate from Ontario Hydro for $250!!!!! I have been waiting over 2 months for it. Also got lots of good coupons from a coupon train I participated in a few weeks ago. Now off to call EI for the third time as my issue with them is still not resolved...
Can someone claify for my taxes? I'm trying to do them myself using Studio Tax.
Is the "amount for eligible dependent" strictly for those with special needs, or is it like the "equivalent to spouse" credit that I can enter my 15 year old that lives with me under as a tax credit?
Need help....thanks!
Check the tax guide according to the Line # for accurate information, but amount for eligible dependant used to mean a deduction for a child living with you, and there is also an additional special line if the child is disabled.
To-Do List progress:
- finished altering sweater neckband (one more for the wearable section)
- moved sleeve buttons on another blouse (still have to alter side seams by removing inside row of stitching, and restitching along the outer seam to re-inforce.
Yesterday was a day when people phoned me constantly, and I had many interruptions and other annoyances with them. Why is it that when people fail to plan or fulfill their own responsibilities, they expect someone else to accommodate them anyway. Today my phone ringer is OFF, and so is my answering machine.
Thanks Valiant! I figured it out...
Hope your day goes much smoother & you accomplish all you set out to do today!
My work hours got cut again this month, so consequently I will have less money to work with. It's the life of a music teacher...the people I work with often show me little consideration, and when they make or change their plans, I am expected to adjust to them and often take the loss. All this in spite of my studio guidelines. I love my work, but I hate the problems of being taken for granted, taken advantage of, and losing work hours and income.
6 1/2 years till retirement.
Well, it's been a week of trouble of all kinds.
And tonight, my kitchen faucet wand suddenly started spouting water from the couplet, and the plastic seal inside is broken, and now I can't use the kitchen water till it's fixed.
Also, my troublesome neighbour has been barbecuing with her propane barbecue set up right beside my kitchen window, directly under my kitchen exhaust fan, so everytime she barbecues, my unit fills up with propane gas, and I get very sick, and it's also a fire hazard to have propane gas fumes in my unit. Will have to report this, since it's not possible to deal with her...same tenant that is very loud, throws tantrums and screams & curses her little kid, though this has lessened somewhat since I talked to the landlord a few months ago.
Why can't people use a little common sense and common courtesy?
Now I have to take action of some sort, because I really can't cope with it.
Peace...I want peace.
Today, I called in my repairs & barbecue troubles.
Then I made 6 dishcloths and 3 dishtowels out of 2 heavy cotton skirts.
Sewing table or bed linens are 2 useful ways to recycle fabrics; these linens can always be used, and it saves the cost of buying them.
I also sewed a missing button on a shirt. Little by little, my sewing is getting done.
I feel like doing some baking today to break up the studying. I'm craving some type of lasagna dish.
Work is finished for the day; student making excellent progress, and showing imaginative promise.
Plumber came and fixed the kitchen sink-spout. Glad that's done!
Feeling less crabby now. Will raid my fridge later; am having a cuppa hot choc right here.
(Lasagna...just go with it, girl!) ;)
Well, today is another day to do some things on my list.
I'm planning to work on prepping & packing DS's birthday-box, which will contain various household items & clothing, and also plan his homemade birthday cake and cookies, which have to be baked & packed last before sending out.
My sewing has been adding up to result in a drawer full of useful articles, which I'm keeping ready for myself or as extras for my family.
I don't want to do any grocery shopping this week. Money is tight now, so the best thing to do is keep at home, and work steadily on accomplishing something. A minus can be turned into a plus that way.
Have a good day, everyone!
I thought I was doing better this month...but I am not:(
