Q might be taking a page out of Aeroplan book - or most frequent flyer programs ... decreasing the points you can earn while increasing the effort it takes to get them. Watch out if they jack up the 'cost' of the prizes/ballots (seems to be 10 points for each $1 of value/MSRP).

Nothing is free! No charge maybe, but not free
Simple equation...the number of clicks/interations/eyeballs translates into the rates that they charge their advertisers. Same advertising model that's been going on for decades. Advertisers pay the freight for the opportunity of having their message put in front of us ... good example being the 'Tampax' trivia question the other week.Shine On!

Have a look at the lyrics from Tom Petty's "The Last DJ"
Well you can't turn him into a company man
You can't turn him into a whore
And the boys upstairs just don't understand anymore
Well the top brass don't like him talking so much
And he won't play what they say to play
And he don't want to change what don't need to change
And there goes the last DJ
Who plays what he wants to play
And says what he wants to say
Hey, hey, hey
And there goes your freedom of choice
There goes the last human voice
There goes the last DJ
Well some folks say they're gonna hang him so high
Because you just can't do what he did
There's some things you just can't put in the minds of those kids
As we celebrate mediocrity all the boys upstairs want to see
How much you'll pay for what you used to get for free
And there goes the last DJ
Who plays what he wants to play
And says what he wants to say
Hey, hey, hey
And there goes your freedom of choice
There goes the last human voice
And there goes the last DJ
[Instrumental break]
Well he got him a station down in Mexico
And sometimes it will kinda come in
And I'll bust a move and remember how it was back then
There goes the last DJ
Who plays what he wants to play
And says what he wants to say
Hey, hey, hey
And there goes your freedom of choice
There goes the last human voice
And there goes the last DJShine On!

Speaking of "Last DJ's", I wonder whatever happened to Shirley McQueen? (there's a blast from the past, eh?) I used to listen to her almost religiously when she did the evening show. Had the fortune to meet her during a "live on location" from the HMV at 333 Yonge once, and dammmmnnnn... she was just as attractive in person as a warm-blooded twenty-something fella could hope.
There's a Shirley McQueen on JackFM in Regina, but the face doesn't look familiar....What do the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Titanic have in common?
They both look good until they hit the ice.

If Springsteen hadn't release The Rising, I would have called this the greatest album of 2002. Not sure which version you put up here (No 'Tubes at work), but there's a live DVD that was filmed at the Olympic in L.A., where Tom & the Heartbreakers do the album live. Definately worth checking out.
