Sorry, but I'm just wondering. Any experts on Haiti out there?

The earthquake victims need immediate help. I'm just trying to figure out who to give my money to.

Not an expert on Haiti, but the underlying problem has for many years been the dictatorship that rules the country. It`s one of the reasons that Haiti is perhaps the only country that doesn`t have tourism as a main industry.

The saddest part is that there is finally a govt that is more open, so the hope was that things would change for the better. Time will tell whether this will happen.


On another note, did anyone see the SAR dogs at work? Was watching an interview with a volunteer & her German Shepherd who`d just come back from Haiti. The dog had managed to rescue 7 victims.

With regards to the TTC employee, I thought all the booths were under camera surveillance (after an employee was injured during a robbery). I question why no one in charge checked on this individual (since he was apparently asleep for some time). It's one thing for someone to nod off in a quiet place in a back corner office, but I would be concerned for his safety if someone decided to break in & steal the cash & tokens.
