Gov was working on a master list to bring people in and change their old cards to new ones, but it stopped mid way because a huge complaint was made at the fact that it has your picture - address AND HEALTH RECORD. Way too much info on a card. So I don't know if they are still cancelling old ones. I think its only if you loose your old card do you get a new one.
I know my dr and dentist both said to hold onto the card as long as I can!

I also have the old OHIP card. Hey, if you don't have to keep renewing it why bother changing it? Its enough to have to change your passport every five years now. Before I knew you could keep using the old card I went to get it changed to the new one but waited soooo long in line I left and later found out you don't have to change it to the new one. The new one is good for I.D. however, if you don't have a Drivers license.
Q. When is it bad luck to meet a white cat?
A. When you are a mouse!
P.S. Colin James is coming on Kim's show at 3:20 if anyone is into it!

One of my favourite breaktime activites here is watching The Price is Right with my lunch. (I don't smoke, so there's not much else to do for half an hour) This happened yesterday. If she hadn't been able to get right back up, it may not have been as funny. But she did, so we don't feel bad laughing...

I used to work at one of those cheque-cashing / payday loan offices. We were told not to accept it as a "valid" form of photo ID. I asked why, and was told that a person's health card number was "confidential" information; demanding it was considered a violation of privacy. So, what? A drivers' license number isn't private?

I just had mine renewed and am awaiting my new one. I asked if everyone was going to be receiving a notice to renew their cards, and was told around their birthdays. Good thing is you are permitted to smile unlike the new driver's licenses.
This is being done to prevent fraud and you and me!
BTW...Thanks for the WW words and interesting posts.
I think Q has a screw up in their software system. I entered Michelob in error yesterday for the weekly bonus and I received my 5000 points... today there hasn't been any place to enter Cheerios.. Oh well! C'est la vie... as long as I win the trip to the UK!
I am still a bit uncertain about those green boxes and candy, reps and when I receive notification about someone reading my post. I have thanked some of you, and I also appreciate those who extended a welcome greeting to me!
What is the protocol? Am I to reply to each notification?
You folks are great!
