I think Kongs might have a lifetime guarantee on them. If you have a piece of it, try mailing it back to the company. I can check for sure once I get to the store today. My own dogs don't even like them, so they'll definitely last the lifetime - the poodle we're fostering right now might be another story though.

I took the first Kong (a large red) Lily shredded back to the pet shop where I was grilled about it (the owner at first couldn`t believe that my innocent little 45lb Lab mix was able to do so much damage). I did get a black extra large one for free, but didn`t have the heart to go back & ask for another when that one was turned into ribbons.

The funny thing is Lily only ever chewed one thing that she wasn`t allowed to - a tiny corner of the baseboard. & that was only because I was on the phone, on hold, ignoring her. I stupidly took the advice to put something unpalatable on the spot to discourage her. I slathered hot chili oil (the stuff where if you put 1 drop into your cooking, your mouth is on fire) all over the spot. That`s when I discovered Lily LOVES hot & spicy food.

Oh & now if I`m spending too much time on the phone ignoring her, she will grab one of her squeaky toys & squeak her little heart out just out of reach. My friends all know that when the squeaking starts, we`ve been on the phone too long.

LOL....that's fantastic! I have a little Italian greyhound who will do the same thing at the most climactic scene of a movie. I have no idea how she knows, but she does! Better than chewing the furniture, I guess!

As for the Kong, I stand corrected. I'm have one right here and it only offers a 30 day satisfaction guarantee, not a durability guarantee. There is a toy called a Hurley that does offer one, the rep just left with my order!

They did have a lifetime warranty at one time, but how do you prove anything if there is nothing left?
