I receive numerous reps, but my rep profile stays the same as well.

I'm with you on this one, I hand out rep like candy, I usually limit out at 50 and I get lots of rep back but it never changes till my posts hit the next hundred mark? You can only rep the same person every 18 reps, so I go to other sites and rep like crazy till I can come back here and rep you all again.

if you look at your user control panel and then go to Latest Reputation Received you'll see your rep points total.
even though when you're posting it shows your rep power as 99 or whatever, your points total will be considerably higher.
your rep power is a percentage of your points total.
also, when you GIVE rep, the amount you give is based on your rep power.

i don't know why.... that's just life in sc, i guess.

not that it matters, but i think so.
if you look at your points total now and check it again after someone has repped you, you'll see how many points that person's rep is "worth".
still don't know what the point is to the rep business
