Qantas
Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services. Working with computer technology, once I learn an Acronym it kinda stays with me.


My daughter has a job interview in New Zealand at the end of the month, so I have been doing research on flights. This assisted greatly with my answer. If memory serves me well, Qantas have never had a crash. Does that still hold true?

Gold Lion wins the grand prize, which includes not putting a "U" in the name - a common error. Grand prize is a 1979 Lada! Second prize goes to Neon for not cheating! Oh BTW, second prize is TWO 1979 Ladas! Honourable mention to Harry Canary (great handle!) for giving it his best shot.



Qantas has never had a fatal accident, but they are not accident or injury free. This is their worst accident to date. They went off the runway while landing at Sydney in 1999 during a heavy rainstorm, much like Air France did in Toronto in 2005. Notice the evacuation slide from the upper deck sitting on top of the tree. That'd be one heck of a surprise when you went to jump out!



All that said, Qantas is a safe airline and I would not hesitate for a moment to put my loved ones in their capable hands.
