This morning I did my usual and went to the McDonald's across the street for brekkie and they had the complimentary newspapers (Vancouver Sun) and they had both the Brandsaver and Smartsource in them. I checked in at the 7-11 nearby and their Vancouver Suns also had both coupon inserts. I also checked at the IGA across the street and they had Vancouver Suns with both inserts. None of the Globe and Mails or National Posts had the inserts, which is usual.
So, in my neighbourhood (downtown Vancouver) the coupon inserts are in the Vancouver Suns sold at 7-11 and IGA and they were also in the papers delivered to McDonald's.

Dh and I ventured out in the snowstorm this morning, all 3 gas stations in my little one horse town (actually we have 2 horses lol!) had been picked through by 11am (I asked at one gas station and was told that a lady had taken them all). We drove to the neighbouring town and No Frills sells papers, but the cashier had all the inserts behind her till and you apparently had to ask - she questioned why I was looking through the papers and when I explained I was checking to make sure it had an insert she was snotty and pulled one out from behind her till and said "you only get one". I'm happy with one(she wouldn't let me buy more than one paper either, apparently she made up her own rule of "one paper per household"), but I've never heard of the cashiers hording them and having to ask.

Seriously thinking about it, but knowing how my temper can really flare, I didn't want to embaress DH by asking for a manager (and there was a lineup). While I do understand keeping them behind the counter and giving them to the customer I should have been able to buy more than one paper if I wanted. I also began to wonder if this cashier is a couponer and is keeping them for herself...hmmmm....
