Airmiles had discontinued the Metro GC & PharmaPlus GC..

Just went to order a $25 PharmaPlus GC and they've discontinued it....I wanted to use up my Dream Rewards and switch to all Cash and they've gotten rid of both the PharmaPlus and the Metro GC.

Why does Airmiles mess with a good program?

p.s. I tried to order the $25 Gap or $25 Banana Republic and got an error message saying I didn't have enough airmiles...and of course I do...need to make a phone

I've never thought to use them for groceries. My blender broke and I've been wanting a magic bullet. They had both and I still have about 1000pts left. They have lots of reward stuff I think.

Me too....I know I can start earning Cash Rewards but I'm kind of stuck (for now) with my Dream Rewards.

And wouldn't it be nice if they posted an end date to the rewards so you could order them before they got rid of them???

Metro wasnt... a gift card anymore tho.. its a certificate.. so u gotta redeem all at once.. if u ordered a $20 one.. u have to use up to $18 and can get back upto $2 in change.

That's disappointing. Those were the only ones I'd consider getting - and was planning on getting a bunch in the next little while. *shakes fist* Damn you airmiles!

I don't do a lot of shopping at Safeway BUT, My son <3's the L.C.
so he's been racking up the Airmiles for me!

I used to redeem miles in Sept. mostly for the OLD Cineplex movie combos
I'd get the kids pkg x 12 1 movie a month (Great stocking stuffer)
REALLY miss the BOGO Cineplex admissions for 25 miles... Ancient long years ago.

Or for Magazines (which I now get thru Rogers $1/mth)

What would really be nice is IF Safeway would let you redeem against your in~store shopping!



The Cash miles to me are useless (as I do not drive and will not be making any major home renos anytime soon)
There are no Metros, Sobeys and Rexall ( are East/Atlantic only )

Was REALLY hoping this year they'd add Bomber Tix since they have most other CFL teams...
You can always walk upto any Goldeyes games np So there's still that

I ordered my Banana Republic GC and then changed my preference to 100% Cash.

Searching around a bit they still have the $20 Rona GC for 190 and CDs & DVDs (not very good ones!!) for 120ish and Chatelaine magazine subscription for 75 airmiles.

I would suggest ordering quickly if you want to use up Dream airmiles before all the small rewards disappear.

Airmiles has changed a once simple and easy format into a cat and mouse game!!

p.s. Hope this doesn't sound like it belongs in the Rant section...I still love the Airmiles program but I hate that I have to plan strategy before I go shopping.

They definitely should have. I did get a notice about the Shell certificates, but not Metro & Pharma.
