I used a one cup coffee maker for mine and they turned out fine. All the little container contains is the coffee or tea and a filter. Either way it just needs to be filtered like regular coffee.

I have a Hamelton Beach duo system that makes one cup or a small pot and I just open the little cups and pour the coffee into the little one cup filter. No problems.
