I'm scared to go anywhere near the bedroom because the wife jumps me every time I go in there. Does something happen to women when they hit their forties?

I think she might be asleep now, but I'm worried she's just pretending...

I think it's different for women and men... TMI I know, but at this time of year (tire season for auto techs... meaning physical exhaustion and an achy back and legs) my DH (9 years older than me and just about to enter his forties) often goes, "What?!? Again? Really? How about tomorrow instead?" He just finds the hard, heavy work a bit harder on his body than it was a few years ago, leaving him particularly drained at the end of the day (and achy when he wakes up, too). I'm sure he would identify with your thread and is with you in spirit

Oh dear Lord, the kids are off to school and the wife doesn't leave for work for another half hour. Hadn't considered this, just thought I had to get through the night intact...
