Over..Walmart: Corelle 12 piece Ceramic Dinnerware Set - White $5.00

Oh do they ever break.....I think I have gone through 3 full sets in 5 years....kids dropping their bowls in the sink, me putting a plate on the table not so gently, magically in the cabinet by itself.....I even had one that snapped in half with a full plate of food on it as I was carrying it to the table (guess my kids eat too much and the poor plate just gave up).

They do have a good guarantee tho....if you call with your receipt right after the plate breaks they will send you a replacement piece no issues.

I once saw a rep demonstrate how durable they were only to have him drop a plate and break it,lol.

As far as plates breaking with food on them, I had that happen to me with another plate and food went all over the floor. I told my cousin what happened to the plate and he was like oh too many calories, I laughed and then said oh shut the f**k up,lol.

I went to the Oshawa Wal-Mart and they had no idea either. She said they might have had one, but doesn't know where it would be....too bad though, cuz it's a GREAT deal! Thanks for pointing it out OP, I think I'll try some other Wal-Marts (Pickering says it's in stock there on the website and maybe Scarborough)....unless others have tried there and found none...anyone?

I went to the Oshawa Wal-Mart and they had no idea either. She said they might have had one, but doesn't know where it would be....too bad though, cuz it's a GREAT deal! Thanks for pointing it out OP, I think I'll try some other Wal-Marts (Pickering says it's in stock there on the website and maybe Scarborough)....unless others have tried there and found none...anyone?

I went to the georgetown walmart looking for this set as the website said it was in stock...the associate had no idea what I was talking about and of course I forgot the printout at home! I started digging a little deeper in the dinnerware area and found a 12pc mainstay white set similar to the picture with a $10 price tag. Sure enough when scanned they came up at $5. I purchased the 2 remaining sets as it was still a good deal. I just cross referenced the receipt upc coupon to the website and sure enough it matches. The website has the wrong company in its description!

Now off the rid my cupboards of the everyday mismatched sets..thanks OP for the posting!

Good idea...but the person I dealt with at Oshawa Wal-Mart said that it showed that it was in stock (she checked her handheld thingy after I gave her the UPC), but she had no idea were it was. Then she said it might have been purchased....I really don't think she cared too much to help me find a $5.00 dish set

Ah-ha! Mystery solved! Thanks for posting that....I might have to look through the Mainstay stuff then! How's the quality?

Tried the Surrey 88th store could not find them. Sales clerk had no clue.

I went to Walmart Burnaby Supercentre & Grandview Hwy and both does not have it, even though online it said it's "in stock".
What a waste of time!

I will pass on the Mainstay dishes. We like Corelle. I personally don't like having mismatched dishes but my DH or my mother don't care. My mom will even serve you dinner on Christmas plates in the middle of summer.

I see no one has said anything about their cups. I don't like the quality. I find that the cups get these discoloured marks on them when you scratch them. And chip easily. My DH doesn't like how big they are as well. The cheapest I have seen Corelle sets are $19.99 but I remember buying my last set at RCSS for $22.98 on a no tax event and used my 10% off employee discount.

It wasn't really a waste of time going to WM to check out the deal because I came home with Mc'D's breakfast and coffee for my DH and he thought I was the best wife ever. The way to my DH heart is through his stomach.

I've seen cheap restaurants with miss-matched plates lol never-mind in someones home.

I really want this set lol....so I dragged hubby to Pickering Wally World....no set Oh well, I guess it's not meant for me! I have Corelle right now and love it I got it from a Corelle/Corningware outlet type store, so it was pretty cheap....but I got black and white and it doesn't really go with our new apartment lol, so plain white dishes would make me so happy! I'm thinking I'm going to try Scarborough tomorrow lol....I don't mind the drive up, plus I can go to some other stores to coupon shop too
