Thanks for this.........however, it's not the same one that was shown to me at Park & Tilford location a few weeks ago. As HiJinx mentioned; I was also shown a policy that stated that stacking was not allowed on coupons that say ""Limit of one coupon per purchase". So....not sure what's up at SOF?!?!
It'll be interesting to see what happens at the locations that are very coupon friendly.Last edited by redhdlois; Mon, Oct 29th, 2012 at 12:42 AM.

Yes!!! And Limit of one coupon per purchase per customer (or something like that).
Could we list stores who ARE coupon stacking friendly? I'm not going out and getting 50 boxes of chicken. I just wanted 1 stack and the BOGO (so two boxes all together). I never buy huge volumes (well, except I bought 9 boxes of tampons today, but they are all a donation to Covenant House).
SOF in Nordel used to be fantastic, but today, wow, makes me want to go to Superstore ... and that's say A LOT.

There is definitely something going on. I was in New West this evening. This is not my usual store, but I have been in there on occasion and not had any issues before. I stack on occasion but I am not a big stacker. I was not stacking this evening, but using one coupon per item. I had Rain Checks from last week and checked before shopping that I could use a rain check from another SOF location.
Check out was lots of fun. Had the whole discussion about purchase versus transaction. Something about the supervisor had been stating something to the cashier a day or two before about things being stricter. She spoke to one of the supervisors on duty and no one seemed clear about it and okay fine they would take the multiples of the same coupon and do it as one transaction. I was sure she put in too many coupons as she was ringing it in. I asked her to count back up on her screen and check--I could not see far enough back up on the screen visible to me.
On leaving the store I rechecked the receipt as I always do. I discover I had been right. She had applied 9x$1.50 coupons and it should have been 6X$1.50. I had been undercharged by $4.50. I couldn't leave that way. So back we go.
Well another supervisor was called and the whole one per purchase was discussed again. The entire order was refunded, had to be rung in again and done as 6 transactions (I had 6 of one item). It took awhile. Thank goodness the store was not busy and both cashiers (I had different ones for each time around) were friendly, and helpful.
My take at the moment is that there is something going on around the "one coupon per purchase" wording. There was no mention about a new policy, just something about things being stricter and they had to be more careful and read things more carefully. The interpretation by staff at the store that I was at that it meant one of any given coupon per transaction. I do hope that is not what is written in whatever information has been provided.

Me thinks SOF is overthinking the wording......
I'm not sure how successful a thread will be regarding the 'stacking friendly' locations....as I find it seems to change constantly.....maybe call it a 'hit and miss' thread !?!?

Coupon Acceptance Practices
Our coupon acceptance practices are designed to help extend more savings to our customers while
ensuring we continue to offer an exceptional customer service experience to everyone in our stores.
We don’t limit the number of coupons redeemed per transaction necessarily, but rather, we focus on
our responsibility to follow the directions clearly stated on those coupons.
To receive your coupon discount please:
• present your coupon at the time of purchase
• ensure all conditions stated on the coupon are met (product to purchase, limits etc.)
• ensure all product specifications are met (size, flavour, etc)
• ensure your coupon is redeemed prior to the expiration date
• if printed from the internet, your coupon is legible
• ensure your coupon is not a photocopy
• ensure your coupon is not issued by one of our competitors
Store issued coupons: store coupons are distributed through flyers, email, in-store kiosks, social media and
direct mail.
• Our store system reinforces the conditions of every coupon we receive to ensure that specifications
are met (including banner, date, product specifications, limits, combinations, etc).
• Can be combined with manufacturer coupons
• Only one store issued coupon can be redeemed per item (no stacking)
Manufacturer issued coupons:
• Can be combined with a store issued coupon
• Must have a Canadian address; US coupons aren’t accepted
• The total value of the coupons cannot exceed the value of the product
• Multiple manufacturer’s coupons can be redeemed per item (stacking), only if each coupon comes
from a different media source (e.g. manufacturer, newspaper, website, etc) and has a different
code (or UPC)
• Stacking isn’t allowed on ‘buy one, get one’ free (BOGO) products
• Stacking isn’t allowed if the fine print says:
o Use of more than one manufacturer coupon per product is strictly prohibited
o Only one coupon valid per purchase
o Limit one coupon per customer, limit one coupon per purchase
• Splitting coupons across multiple products is not allowed
• All taxes are payable on the full value of the item, unless the coupon specifications state it’s for a
‘free’ taxable product
• Deposits and fees are payable on applicable products regardless of the coupons’ discount
• Manufacturer’s mail-in-rebates will be honoured by the manufacturer not the store (and are not
considered coupons)
Guidelines for high volume coupon redeemers:
• Please call ahead to ensure we have adequate team members available on our front end at the time
you plan to shop so that we can accommodate your needs while providing great to service to our
other customers.
• At checkout, please ensure that coupons are placed with each item to speed up the coupon
validation and checkout process.
• If you hope to purchase large quantities of individual items, please provide 2 – 3 days notice to
your local store manager so we can properly manage inventory requirements
• Please note that we reserve the right to limit quantities purchased based on inventory available for
all customers.
• Please note that we will not accept large quantities of multiple coupons during any special
promotional days. For more information, please see your manager.
• We reserve the right to amend the above mentioned practices at any time, in consideration of the
best experience for our customers.

Wow, that really limits stacking abilities!! It sounds like Canadian Tire's policy "One coupon per purchase", meaning per transaction. Hijinx25 did they say anything about their reasoning for the change??
My Uncle tried to use a few of the Kraft $5 WUB5 the other day on the Cadbury chocolate bars and they wouldn't let him use more than one Kraft coupon, stating the "one coupon per purchase" rule. And he wasn't even stacking.Last edited by jma9075; Mon, Oct 29th, 2012 at 03:39 PM.

When I was instore, and I asked about the new change, the customer service rep was really rude and snippy. I didn't get any info out of her. The cashier said that too many of them were letting stacks through that weren't allowed (not enough education? not sure).
When I emailed overwaitea for their policy I did ask why the sudden change and that part of my email was not answered, LOL.

Well....I guess SOF will not be getting anymore of my business if I can't stack....their prices are ridiculous otherwise.

SAVE ON FOODS NO LONGER STACKS!!!
An email I received from corporate:
Hi Monica,
With the increase of stacking confusion and due to certain ethical policies that are put forth by the manufactures we are no longer able to accept coupon stacking. However you are able to stack one Overwaitea coupon with one manufactures coupons.
Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.
Sincerely,
Steve
