Curtains for a little boys room

Okay folks...I need an opinion.
I am trying to choose between some fabrics to make curtains for my 2.5 year old son.
This is my favourite fabric, but I am concerned that the dots might make it come off as too feminine.



The whole upper part of the fabric is dots...so I thought about using the border print as a trim with a green or dark brown solid panel above it. I know it is probably an odd choice for a boy, but I think it is totally cute and it fits his impish personality so well.

I am also considering this print:

As a border/valance with a dark brown corduroy panel for the top part.

Any opinions?

I think the dino print is really cute, but then again I LOVE the color brown lol. If you think the first print will suit your son better, and that's the one you like then go with that one

Just some ideas...I think I am addicted to fabric shopping, I have spent the better part of two days puzzling through this...my big boy is easy, he's getting:

I guess first I would ask, what color are his bedroom walls or what is on his comforter?

I love the first one, however i also love the fire engine one as well!!

His walls are a dark taupe...no plans to paint in the near future (I hate painting). His bedding will change with whatever the curtains end up being, a quilt is the next project ;0) His room is on the east side of the house, and gets a lot of light during the day.

The fire engines are for my almost 5 year old. He is crazy for anything fire truck related.
