You can find a solid pot that's the same circumference as the lid and plant annuals in them . Lots of Ivy and Biddens should make the top half look pretty at least.

Not sure but unfortunately I have no room for one anyways. I have a pine tree that I grew from seed in a pot it's about 12 inches tall and 5 years old. It started growing in the rocks around my pool and I transplanted it. It will need a good home soon.
