@Angela273 -your cucumbers probably went to town with all the water that came to your community. Cucumbers love water-so glad you have a bumper crop of salad veggies!

bought a strawberry hanging basket on its last legs...gave it some fertilizer and it is blooming with pretty fuscia coloured blossoms.
One of my orchids is blooming for the first time ever since it's been in my care. Got it cheap from the garden center because it had already finished blooming there so I took a chance on the color and bought it. It was worth it. Mine has two flowers open with two more buds still to open.

How lovely, Jays!
Did anyone else in Southern Ontario spot moths and dandelions turned to puffballs last week? We had mild weather and it was rather eerie to see several little white moths like it was a summer night during a morning. At least the strange mushrooms from Sept/Oct have not reappeared.
Two tulips have poked their leaves up above ground. Saw something else that is green emerging-not sure if it's a third tulip or other flower. I will wait for next Friday when temperature will be high of 5C and then pull out old basil and parsley plants and put in new herb seeds. Want the snow and sun to take care of growth for spring.
The snowdrops are almost finished, they've been up for a couple of weeks now. Daffodils in the front yard are about an inch above ground. Well, now they're under about six inches of snow.
Jays, gee, that's just nuts!
Ugh, can't find a picture online of the orchid that's blooming right now. I will try to take a pic and post in here. There's another one with buds - a couple more weeks or so til that one blooms.
My snow drops are also under snow along with tulip, daffodil, crocus and hyacinth sprouts.
