The rain over the past couple of days has the yard lush and green. Lovely to see items coming to bloom.

Lovely, GoodBoy! Isn't it nice seeing so much green this time of the year?
It sure is @GoJays . Love getting into the yard early every morning - just me an the birds ... :)
Saw about 10 bushes of lilacs (a stand) on a greenspace by the main road/highway 403 route today when I was on the north side coming back from the garden centres. Did not realize they were there before.
BTW, it is inch worm rappeling season. Did not walk into a strand on the way out but on the way back in, I passed three dangling strands with green worms. My hat was not with me (too windy). I recall they have two weeks of action then everything goes back to routine. I kept walking into them last May/June.
Finally, a few lilac stems starting to bloom - they all should pop this week, so I am so happy! The bushes are in the front at one side and the front.
I love having them in the house, however - I could bathe in their scent. (btw, have only ever found one H&B item which actually smells like lilacs; it's a shampoo from Yves Rocher - shoot, I just looked on their site and it's not there any more!)
@GoodBoy -in your second last photo, the dark purple flowers-do you know what they are? Have about three of them blooming. Last year, some seeds must have spread because I've been pulling small plants from between a step and the front walkway.
Thanks, @GoodBoy ! The plants have interesting leaf shapes but act somewhat like chrysanthemums-they can dominate a space and take up sunshine from other plants.
Mom's double peony bush in the back opened their buds three days ago. Due to the rain two days ago, one side had drooped but I hope some strong sunshine might restore their spring. I had to lift the flowers so I could move the mower around to cut the grass.
@Ciel - my back is pretty much forest like so the columbine do well in the partial shade. Sun plants do not work for me at all. No grass - I like that part of my yard - no grass!
