I smell a rat!
Cottages. Missing flowers. no one home on a regular basis???
Maybe these turds are stealing flowers, ropotting them and selling them at flea markets? Cottage are sitting ducks for stuff like that.
What people will do to save/make a buck is ridiculous!!!!!!if at first you don't succeed, do it the way your wife told you...

Thanks for the replies all. I am surprised to hear it happens so often. I'm surprised they didn't just break the windows and take my cute little cacti that were sitting in the windowsills too, since they are already so daring as to steal the whole garden. The windows are right behind the garden, lol. Ugh!
Our cottage is sorta small-townish, so it is surrounded by houses that are usually empty year-round. I guess the person above is right that they are a hotspot for thefts because it is an easy target and no one is going to see it happen. Still sucks though!Everytime you like my post I give the dog in my display picture a big *KISS!*

That really stinks! I feel bad for you. We have friends that have a cottage that sits all week, they have had to resort to having a video system installed so they can keep a watch on it through out the week. You wouldn't believe the things they have caught the neighbours doing! It's awful . I don't understand how people can be so disgusting . The only thieves I have had to worry about stealing my hosta plants around here are the deer apparently they think hosta's are very tasty!

Some people are so sad!!
Maybe it's time to put up some sort sign that says your property has security cameras/is under surveillance. It might help....it might not....but it's worth a shot.......it could make someone think twice next time.

I know on another forum someone had parked his van for a few day in the parking lot at one of the provincial parks. They came back to discover that someone had stolen the doors off the van. When they reported it to the police they discovered that it had happened before in that area.
Do make sure that you report it to the police so they know what is going on. Someone people are without any kind of morals at all to do something like that.

So they dug up the plants and took roots and all or cut them? I've had people cut the flowers from right over the fence, that was bad enough but to take the entire plant is just despicable.
