Oh, interesting! I've heard both good and bad experiences there... mostly good, though!

My husband's niece and her husband taught English in Russia for three years (til two years ago). They just loved it.

I hope it goes well for her, living somewhere where everything is so different and you don't speak the main language must be hard. And doing it all on your own, I'm not sure I could do it.

She told me about a summer camp in Italy that is looking for people to come over and teach English for the summer. Its 3 hours day with weekends off
I'm considering going.

I would definitely have my friends and family come live with me if that was my house. I don't get how just a couple or a small family live in such a giant houses like that.

She said it was just about 30 minutes outside of Rome. So there would be a lot to see and do!

A friend of ours - well, their family - went over to Italy to do a year's sabbatical - four years ago - their fifth child was born there. He's a vet professor at the university here, and he went to do research. They were in a town outside of Florence, for most of the time. That's something I can't imagine doing, uprooting a family for a year - but it was quite the experience. They are originally from Serbia, came to Canada about 10 years ago.
