Thread: Gotta Love Shoppers!
-
Sat, Jun 9th, 2012, 03:36 PM #1
I have a 24 hours Shoppers near my house that I frequent. I often go on Friday nights because that is the best day for deals. I think all 24 hour stores do this, but at mine I can benefit from the current weeks sale and then the next weeks sale!
So I haven't been feeling well all week but with the husband away on a fishing weekend I jumped at the opportunity to go shopping on my own (since we started couponing he loves tagging along - but throws extras in the cart like a little kid! LOL )
I had done really good at sticking to 75 dollars before coupons but got sidetracked by the darn clearance! LOL So I spent more than I needed to but definately happy with my deals.
Various items included
Gillette deo (3. 49 - should have paid 4.99 but got the next days sale)
Gillette bodywash (3.99 free wub G deo) *** plus got 3000 BP *** thank you to the SCer who posted their deal earlier in the week because I never would have thought to do this!
Huggies (10.99 - 3 dollar coupon , plus got 20x the points on this item! again benefiting from the next days sale )
Secret Clinical with bonus venus razor 5.99 - 2 dollar coupon - got 3, lots on the shelf!
Old Spice bodywash x2 with bonus pro razor 5.99 - 2 dollar coupon...gah only had one coupon! Huge shelf - prob all gone due to spend your points event today!
Anyways - used 41.25 in coupons, spent 50.05 before taxes
Reg points = 860
Product bonus points = 4980 (Huggies no idea what else? - total surprise , as I hadn't really paid attention to the next weeks flyer that much)
Coupon points = 3000 (Gillette)
transaction bonus =18500
Total earned =27340 points! yippee!
Current balance =144883!
Now for the biggest brag! My husband and I are expecting! So I am stockpiling points until I am on mat leave when funds will be tight! This thread is currently associated with: Huggies, Shoppers Drug Mart

It seems SDM might try and steal back a lot of the points you earned today Wanted to give you the heads up.Insert Clever Signature Here

Wow! That's awful and I had no idea! See that makes me mad. For example, I went on a friday night, its not my fault I got promo's from both days -that's how they do it. If that is something they want to do then they should have their computers fixed so that it does this right in store. Also the Gillette bp thing bugs me the most....I didn't have to purchase that in the same transaction, I could have done it separately and saved my coupon and points. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, but had I known I would have at least done the Gillette in a different transaction, the only reason I bought it was because of the bonus points.....if they take it off, I will be returning those items. And the funny thing is , I never return things!

Okay since purplebunny89 posted that and I looked at other comments I can't let it go! I went on facebook and can't find the thread where they mention as of May 26th.....I went to the Shoppers website nothing there ...looked through the terms and conditions and can't really find anything other than the following .... so it states it can change things but I saw nothing official posted online (I got this from general info section 45 on the Shoppers website)
Shoppers Drug Mart may restrict, suspend or otherwise alter any aspect of the Shoppers Optimum Program, without notice. yeah, except SDM employees have no idea whats going on and nothing is posted online about their new policy besides them just saying there is one. Its very unfair but I thought I would just mention it incase you don't read the SDM section on SC. Sorry to be the one to break the bad news
