I have mentioned before that my mom was a couponer from the old days. She passed away at only 54, 3 years ago. My dad visited tonight and passed on a very special series of envelopes to me.
(edited as photos now added)
I have little envelopes full of her FPC and HV coupons all NED from the 80'S!!! Several stackable fabric softener and fantastic, Green Giant etc FPC I know how hard she worked to earn them and the fact that she saved them. It is super cool on a practical level and also on a sentimental one. For fun I will post some pictures of the vintage coupons I am not posting this for any trade reasons I just thought it was kinda neat.

I just started couponing 'intentionally' a year ago...................................and a few weeks later I discovered an envelope of old coupons from 15 years ago....the last time I was couponing ..............many were expired, or the products didn't even exist. anymore.............but there still were some usable coupons....$1 Hamburger Helper and a few others.
My mom was quite the "coupon Queen" in her day years ago, before Internet..........I remember we always had a cupboard full of Hunt's tomato products, a freezer half-full of Sara Lee cakes, and 30 boxes of almost free cereal around............

Wow that is so neat. I am sorry it is so bitter sweet for you. I am glad that your father could share that with you. It really is a little piece of your mom that he is sharing with you now and that is very cool.

Thank you all so much It is bittersweet indeed. But sweet none the less and very nice to be able to share it here with others who get it - both the family thing and also just the joy of FPC and HV coupons and providing for the family etc. so double thanks for being part of the fun in sharing! I am waiting for hubby to install the scanner LMAO guess that explain why I couldn't figure it out. it wasn't installed! lol. But here are the coupons, photos to be posted soon:
$1.50 Johnson's Baby Powder - awesome old school look. 1987! No exp
Free 450 ml Ivory Shampoo or Ivory Conditioner No exp
$0.50 any Nestle mini pudding - 4 "can" sleeve! No exp
$0.50 any size can Dole Pineapple - No exp
Free 400g or 600g Kellogg Bran Flakes "Kellogg Salada Canada Inc" - No exp
Free 600ml Trigger Sprayer Glass Plus - No exp
Free 250g frozen Green Giant International Collection - No exp
$0.50 any Crisco Shortening - No exp
$1.00 any Uncle Ben's Converted rice - no exp
$1.00 any April Fresh Downy - No exp
$1.50 any April Fresh Downy - No exp
$2.00 any New Softest Ever Downy - No exp
Free 1L Economy Refill bottle Fantastic - No exp
If you imagine the value of the products so many years ago, these were high value! There are a dozen or less of most but a few dozen of the Downy (combined). They seemed to come in 3 packs. Some are still attached together.
I just love the old school images, not photos like today and most without UPC codes etc. Some of the products don't even exist anymore or the specification may not apply if it does. But cool either way.Last edited by kimcool; Fri, Feb 11th, 2011 at 01:01 AM.

Wow, thanks for sharing! It's funny how some products no longer exsist, but I love how she collected may coupons that are STILL highly sought after, like cereal, Green Giant veggies, and Downy. They would look so cute framed with a neutral background!
