This is so sad and so preventable!
You would not leave your child in a sweltering car for 2 hours so WHY WHY WHY would you leave your dog?
PLEASE DO NOT leave your dogs or any other animal in hot cars people! If you have no common sense then you shouldn't have animals imo!

Sudbury couple charged after dog dies in car
A man and woman from Sudbury, Ont., are facing charges of animal cruelty after their dog died in their parked car.
The dog was left in a vehicle at the Vaughn Mills Mall, north of Toronto, as temperatures outside soared to 32 C.
Officials said the temperature inside the car would've been much higher.
A passerby alerted security personnel but by the time they were able to open the car, the dog had died.
York regional police say a 21-year-old man and 20-year-old woman have each been charged with causing unnecessary suffering to animals.
No names have been released.
They will appear in court on July 10.This thread is currently associated with: N/A

This is SO sad, and unfortunately will happen over and over now that the warmer weather is here - AND there are bound to be dead babies too. It's just sickening.

I saw this on the evening news last night and was so saddened by it. What a senseless and preventable act. I am sure the two 20 somethings are suffering inside, probably not believing it could actually happen. Yes, it actually happens. That poor sweet puppy.

i read the news. the woman said the dog was like her kid and the dog even slept in her bed. well, who's going to believe that? if it were a person, she wouldn't have left it alone in a car for a minute, let alone for 2 hrs!

The weekend was very hot in Toronto. Probably felt about 35+ and was very humid. Why would you leave your animal in the car for two hours? I wouldn't even do it for just 5 minutes. Ridiculous.
Everytime you like my post I give the dog in my display picture a big *KISS!*

I don't understand the lack of thought - leaving the dog in the car.
They were coming back from woofstock -- a festival for animals http://www.woofstock.ca/
Also, the woman works at Pet Smart in Sudbury. I believe she has been fired.

Legal or not I would smash a window in a heartbeat to save a dog from such cruelty. My DD in law once went into our Macdonalds and yelled for the owner of a car with a dog in it to go and let him out of an extremely. hot car. The man had the nerve to act all angry saying the dog liked the heat! (all windows shut even) All of the other diners booed him outloud and he was forced to leave and save his dog. What a brain this speciman had eh?If you see a dog locked in a car on these hot days call the police and if the dog is dying smash a window.
