They haven't outlawed science, Patty. David Suzuki is free to fund as much research as he wants. And I really doubt the Conservatives are worried that Climate Change research is going to somehow disprove Jesus Christ.

I am kind of baffled at this one. Why can't we be happy for people who accomplish their life goals? Or better yet if you don't like it , don't look at it.

Will this scandal tank Christie's bid for President? Did he ever have a realistic chance anyways with the likes of Cruz(well he can't technically run, but) and Ryan, Rand Paul in the mix? Is his outspoken style of politics what the U.S. people go for?
Sadly I do think he knew and judging by how fast he threw his staff under the bus it doesn't look good. Too bad because I would have liked to see him debate Paul Ryan, Sarah Palin and Rand Paul.

To be honest I think this is one of our biggest problems. We pay people too much. I am not talking about the people who do real jobs, I am talking about all the "make work" jobs, political positions, "pork" jobs.
Also, with what is being revealed about the goings on in the civil service here in Quebec I am convinced that because of the depth of the corruption we are losing so much money that all the other social programs combined would be fully funded without raising taxes if it were not for this corruption.

I hear this a lot, but it's just not so. Only Germany has a higher reputation worldwide than Canada.
