Get the nursery ready: Prince William and his wife Catherine are expecting their first child.
St. James’s Palace announced the pregnancy Monday, saying that the Duchess of Cambridge — formerly known as Kate Middleton — has a severe form of morning sickness and is currently in a London hospital. Prince William is at his wife’s side.
Pic from 4 days ago, she is quite slim so not far along.

HG is more than just a severe form of morning sickness. Sadly a lot of doctors brush it off as just being pregnant and sometimes that can be fatal. It occurs in around 1 in 200 pregnancies.
Some women need to hospitalised for several weeks or even months on bed-rest and with drips etc.
Hopefully the Duchess will not be that sick but looking at some of the HG sites around, there seems to be an increase in visits because of this news. Perhaps having such a visible persion affected will make this disease more known about and less likely to be overlooked as "just one of those things".
Short answer : no Long answer : NOOOOOOOOOOO!

So very glad to hear the happy news - but, gosh, I hope she gets on the mend soon! I know that condition can be very serious.

When they announced the pregnancy some of the early reports I read were pretty vague and just said she was hospitalized with complications... I remember thinking oh I hope she doesn't miscarry

If I remember correctly the rules for accession to the throne were changed a year or two back and if this baby is born a girl she'll be the first female to be heir to the throne by right of birth order.

Consent given for change to royal sucession rules
All Commonwealth realms have agreed to press ahead with a bill ending discrimination against women in the succession to the British throne.
Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg said the government would now introduce the Succession to the Crown Bill in the House of Commons as soon as possible.
It means the first child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will become monarch, whether a boy or a girl.

Some morons prank called the hospital pretending to be the Queen and Prince Phillip and got confidential information on her progress.
I hate the press. They killed Diana they should tread lightly here.
