My husband tried to use the $5 off coupon for Chapmans this morning at Superstore for the 2/$5 deal. They punched it in as $2.50. When he pointed out that it should be $5, she said she could only give him one for free, but the coupon says "products," as though it would not matter how many things you were getting.

Does anybody know what the correct way to redeem these is? I am sure that when they would send the coupon to Chapmans, they would get the full $5 back for it. Needless to say, he took the coupon back.

Good for him!! I've never had a problem redeeming for full $5.00 value. If she was to have only redeemed for one product then she should have adjusted coupon for $2.50. But it's a good question hopefully someone has a better answer.

    The cashier was brain dead

The coupon is the same as a $5 bill but only for Chapman products. He could have bought 100 and still should have got $5 off. She could have misunderstood as some coupons say up to $ for a free item, but this is when I would take your coupon back and no't buy the items.
You should not only email SS but email Chapmans and tell them the problem you had at SS. I've done this before and got my coupon back from the actual company plus more for the inconvience. Chapman's would probably appreciate the feedback, I'm sure your DH is not the first. SS has issues with coupons because they are not clear in their policies.
