Comedienne Phyllis Diller has died, at the age of 95. She has been a comedienne since 1952, back in the day when she worked with Bob Hope.
RIP Phyllis Diller.

RIP Tony scott ( Ridley's equally talented brother)
Stars of film and TV have paid tribute to the British director Tony Scott, who has died aged 68 after jumping from a bridge in Los Angeles on Sunday.
He was famous for high-octane films such as Top Gun and Days of Thunder.
Actress Keira Knightley, who starred in his 2005 film Domino, called him "one of the most extraordinary, imaginative men I ever worked with," and "one of the world's true originals".
Director Ron Howard said "No more Tony Scott movies. Tragic day."

Here are some of Diller’s most famous quips.
* “Never go to bed mad. Stay up and fight.” - Housekeeping Hints, 1966
* “Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing.” - Housekeeping Hints, 1966
* “I’m at an age where my back goes out more than I do.” - The Joys of Aging and How To Avoid Them, 1981
* “On my honeymoon I put on a peekaboo blouse. My husband peeked and booed.”
* “Our vet told us that because of my cooking our cat has only two lives left.”
* “I've buried a lot of my laundry in the back yard.”
* “We spend the first 12 months of our children's lives teaching them to walk and talk and the next 12 months teaching them to sit down and shut up.”
* “We had far too many kids. At one point our playpen was standing room only. It looked like a bus stop for midgets.”
* “I was the world’s ugliest baby. I have photos of my folks leaving the hospital with sacks over their heads... I asked my mother how to turn off the electric fan. She said ‘Grab the blade!’”
* “Old age is when the liver spots show through your gloves.”

I heard that Phyllis Diller was trained as a classic pianist. Who knew!?
She got into comedy, after becoming a single mother of five children, in her 30s. She had to find a job. Wow, back in the 1950s that must have been a very difficult time for single mothers.

Wow... didn't hear about Jon Lord... I'm a huge fan of Ernest Borgnine, especially in Marty. That's one of my favourite movies.
Phyllis Diller was awesome, too. And I just saw William Windom in a rerun of St. Elsewhere. I'd be interested to see an episode or two of My World and Welcome To It.Last edited by Lester Morris; Tue, Aug 21st, 2012 at 08:46 AM.

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers said he had died in Los Angeles from complications from a stroke.
He had a lengthy career writing lyrics to go along with Bacharach's tunes.
The pair wrote a string of hits for Dionne Warwick, including Walk On By, and co-wrote songs for films including Alfie and Casino Royale.
